Firstly, it is great to see that cricket has been allowed to start again and I would like to thank everyone involved in getting the club ready, with special thanks to Dave Lander, Matt Egan and James Sempill for the fantastic job they have done with all the preparation.

We have ensured that comprehensive risk assessments have been completed and the government guidelines will be adhered to regarding social distancing. 

Can I ask you to stay alert and self-screen before coming to the cricket club. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid-19, please do stay away and look after yourself and others who may be enjoying the facilities. We understand that you may be coming to enjoy yourselves in ‘bubbles’ however please respect the social distancing guidelines with those outside your immediate ‘bubble’.

I also ask you to refrain from getting close to the scorers to look at the score book. Spectators please do not pick up the cricket ball should it be hit off the field of play.

I and the whole committee at Penn Street Cricket Club really look forward to enjoying some cricket with you over the coming weeks.
