Keith Herriott Memorial Match - 17th September 2022 at 12 noon

09 Sep 2022

Hi Everyone,

As the cricket season draws to a close, I'd like to make you aware of a new trophy we'll be competing for on Saturday 17th September at home to our neighbours, Winchmore Hill CC.

This September marks 20 years since a loyal supporter, Vice-President, and great friend of both our clubs, Keith Herriott, passed away. To commemorate this anniversary, we'll be competing for the new 'Keith Herriott Memorial Trophy'. Henceforth we will be playing for this annually against Winchmore Hill CC at our home ground.

This fixture has particular significance, not only because Winchmore Hill have returned to our fixture list this season for the first time since 2013, but also because Winchmore Hill is where Keith was born. Along with his wife Anne, Keith was also a very active social member of Winchmore Hill CC in the 70s and 80s, before his son Chris joined the PSCC Junior Section in the mid-80s, later going on to become a long-standing Vice Captain of our Senior side. This led to Keith and Anne becoming enthusiastic supporters of PSCC throughout the late 80s and 90s - a link between our clubs we'd like to celebrate as the fixture enters a new phase.

I'm pleased to say Keith's son Chris will be captaining the Penn Street side on the 17th, as we take on a Winchmore Hill side no doubt eager to avenge a PSCC win by 46 runs in the Albie Barnes Cup game at Winchmore Hill only last weekend.

The 40 over match begins at 12pm, followed by a presentation in The Squirrel garden after the game. Winchmore Hill have also extended an invite to PSCC to attend a Beer Fest at their clubhouse later the same evening.

We'd love to see as many of you at Penn Street as possible, to celebrate the life of a much-missed friend and true gentleman. Please do have a read of the attached invitation for further details.

Best Regards
Matt
